* The Death Shepherd's {{SAI|No Rest for the Wicked}} can be countered by picking up the corpses of defeated undead so that they can't be revived. [[Counterspell]] is also effective.
* Death Shepherds will lose most of their resistances once the temporary hit points from {{Cond|Necrotic Veil}} are removed. However, they will still have resistance to {{DamageType|Slashing}}, {{DamageType|Piercing}}, and {{DamageType|Bludgeoning}} damage, and immunity to {{DamageType|Poison}} damage, so it may be wise to use spells of other damage types to defeat them (e.g. {{SAI|Fireball}}, {{SAI|Lightning Bolt}}).
