Act Three[edit section | visual editor]

Horriss is in the Bhaal Temple in the Undercity of Baldur's Gate. He stands on the upper balcony of the temple and never descends to the central altar ground. Regardless of the party's actions, he remains neutral unless attacked.

Before the party's fight with OrinOrin he chats with BloodmopperBloodmopper near one of the alcoves where Orin's victim displayed in a side alcove – one of those whom Orin impersonated to speak to the party in Rivington. If the party met Orin in Rivington only once, this victim is DorghanDorghan, a proprietor of a bar where Horris worked. Dorghan had suspicions towards Horris, which might have been the reason for his demise.[1]

Horris is keen on eating his victims' flesh and cannot speak of anything else except his hunger. His one-liners change depending on whether or not the player character is the Dark UrgeDark Urge and, if they are, whether they embrace or reject their Bhaalspawn legacy.[2]

Idle banter[edit section | visual editor]

  • Horriss
Tell me then - what is the point of murder if not to eat it whole?
  • Bloodmopper
You make it a spectacle for Lord Bhaal.
  • Horriss
The sacrement of murder is to be devoured, savoured.
  • Horriss
Besides, is the feast not the greatest spectacle of them all?
  • Bloodmopper
Surely there must be more to murder than a meal?
  • Horriss
    What more could there be?
  • Bloodmopper
Look upon this altar. Orin's handiwork - do you now see the art here?
  • Horriss
You show me this corpse, I see meat. Well-butchered, to be sure, but meat nonetheless.
  • Horriss
I simply wish a scrap of the Profane Lady's slaughter was left for us.
  • Bloodmopper
Not all of us share your... appetite. Murder alone fills my stomach, my being.
  • Bloodmopper
And to watch Lady Orin at work... Why, that would sate me for an eternity.
  • Bloodmopper
Truly, Lady Orin's kills are something to behold.
  • Horriss
Orin is wasteful in her slaughter. Undisciplined.
  • Bloodmopper
You would dare criticise the Lady of Murder? In her ancestor's temple?
  • Horriss
Orin plays with her food, and barely eats it. I don't see the point.
  • Bloodmopper
I see, you're hungry. May I recommend biting your tongue, in case she hears you?
