“You - turn around and toddle your way right back out of here. Everything in this barn has been donated for the refugees - not you.„
Involvement edit
Nestor is the chief of the Flaming Fist squad, guarding the goods donated to the benefit of refugees, put into storage inside the Requisitioned Barn. His subordinates are , , , , , and .
Nestor accepts donations of gold (500) or supplies (40) for refugees. Also, the party can donate any amount of various items. To this end, Nestor has a dialogue option to engage in trade, despite not carrying any inventory.
Interacting with Manip Nestor plays a vital part in resolving the quest. To check and find dangerous donations, the party should negotiate with Nestor to gain passage into the barn, which would otherwise be considered trespassing. If spotted inside the barn by any Fist guard, explanations of searching for wrong-stuffed toys are not taken seriously, and the party is taken to Nestor anyway.
The player character can use various options to gain access into the barn:
- I need to get into the barn - right now. Something dangerous might be among the donations. (DC 10) (after witnessing the basement of Arfur's mansion)
- I'd like to take the donation into the barn myself. (DC 20)
If the party was spotted exploring the barn without due permission, they can appeal to be investigating a crime:
- I was investigating a crime - I think some of the donations might be dangerous.
- So you're fine with innocent people getting hurt just because you won't own up to your guards' negligence? (DC 18)
- Please, go and check. It won't take much of your time, but it could save lives. (DC 15)
- I'll be honest with you: I'm hot on the trail of my client's prize pig Lulabelle.[2] (DC 20)
- Fist <name> reporting for duty, SIR! I was asked to check on the barn. (DC 18)
If the party (unnoticed) tried to interact with donated dangerous toys and they exploded, they might use following options to explain themselves away:
- I almost died in the explosion myself! I want to find whoever's responsible. (DC 15) (if toys exploded)
- Why would I disarm my own explosives? I just want to find whoever's responsible. (DC 15) (if toys didn't explode yet)
- I was sent by the Council to check up on your operation. (DC 20)
- Because I've already found and dealt with the real culprit: Arfur Gregorio. You're lucky I was here. (if Arfur already confessed)
- Activate the toy and toss it to him.
