Dying Stone Lord Thug is a Human NPC who is a part of Stone Lord's crew in Act Two.

Involvement

Dying Stone Lord Thug can be found on the shore of the River Chionthar, down the cliff and almost under the monumental bridge on which Wyrm's Crossing is located. (X: -141 Y: 73). He is sitting leaned against a low hedge with a knife deep in his guts. When the player approaches him, they can speak to the Thug, but only to watch him inevitably die after a couple of phrases.

However, Dying Stone Lord Thug may occur to be one of disguises that Orin the Red takes to mock and toy with the player character.[1] In this case, the dialogue with the Thug will be longer and more meaningful. Throughout the dialogue, the player will have to roll a passive DC 20 Perception check. If succeeded, they will feel that the dying Thug for some reason seems to be reveling in his miserable condition.

As with other cases of her taking various disguises in Rivington, Orin will try to wheedle out from the player character any hint of shared understanding with her mindset, more so in case of playing as The Dark Urge origin.

Whatever the player chooses to say or to do, after three or four phrases Orin will take her true appearance and, after another couple of spiteful phrases, disappear.

Notes

  1. This can be determined with right-click on the NPC, choosing to 'Examine' him. If the Thug is actually disguised Orin, the NPC will have her level, stats and passive features
