Grub can be found with his best friend, Yenna, in Rivington during Act 3. If allowed, Grub and Yenna become Camp Followers and remain at the party's Camp. Grub is shy and a bit anxious; his trust is only gained by ignoring him. He appears to have some manner of sixth sense regarding the danger Yenna is potentially in, telling the player character that they should be helping her if using 
.
If talking to Grub without Speak with Animals, the talking party member must pass an Animal Handling check to discern a little information about Yenna:
- [ANIMAL HANDLING] You sense this is a reticent cat - gain its trust by ignoring it. (DC 15)
- [ANIMAL HANDLING] Peer into the cat's eyes. Does it know anything about Yenna's mother's fate? (DC 15)
Grub is killed if Orin the Red kidnaps Yenna. This can be prevented by leaving an alternative companion at camp ( Lae'zel, Gale, Halsin, or Minthara).
If Yenna is killed, Grub dutifully sits by her side and mournfully meows.
