Vampire spawns are a race of Undead creatures which can be encountered in various locations in Baldur's Gate during Act Three. They are non-playable, excepting the Origin character Astarion.

Astarion is a notable exception to this rule, regaining his free will through being infected by a Tadpole.
Vampire spawns do not possess the powerful abilities of a true vampire, though they suffer from the usual afflictions. They are Physical and Necrotic damage.
