He approaches the party if they kill a name listed on the Bloodstained Parchment or Devella Fountainhead, as part of the quest Impress the Murder Tribunal, to encourage them to slay more targets and pursue becoming unholy assassins of Bhaal. If the player kills a second murder target from the list, Olfaith will appear again, telling the player to visit Candulhallow's Tombstones and giving the password Sicarius.
