Sally Flymm
“Gods - Gortash has a mother?! I assumed he sprang fully-formed from a lich's arsecrack or something.„
History[edit | edit source]
Sally and Dravo Flymm inherited Flymm's Cobblers from family,[1] giving birth to and raising Enver Gortash in their small Lower City store. However, they struggled with Enver as a child, finding him demanding and troublesome. Parenthood also put a strain on their relationship, nearly driving them apart.[2][3]
While Enver was still a child, Sally and Dravo Flymm went into debt trying to keep their store afloat. They borrowed from the Guild, who later threatened them with death when they were unable to repay their loans.[4][5]
A warlock visited the Flymms, and offered them coin in exchange for Enver's service, which they accepted.[6][7]
This warlock, either in the service of Raphael or Raphael himself, took Enver to the House of Hope, where he became a pageboy under Raphael and Nubaldin.[8] He eventually escaped the House.[9] After he was successful in establishing the cult of the Absolute, Enver returned to his family to take revenge. Enver forced two illithid tadpoles into Sally and Dravo, using them to control their bodies and make them "powerless".[10][11]
Under the tadpole's compulsion, Sally and Dravo outwardly appeared as their son's greatest fans, and were used by Enver to assist in his efforts to control the city. While Sally retained her mind beneath the compulsion, Dravo lost his completely, now no more than a puppet.
Involvement[edit | edit source]
Act Three[edit | edit source]
Sally can be found with Dravo at their store, proudly proclaiming it to be the family home of Enver Gortash, replete with a large painting of a young Gortash hung behind the counter. The player character can use their tadpole to connect with hers [12], or probe her mind with a Wisdom check. A successful meld allows them to speak with the real Sally, who reveals that Gortash tadpoled her and her husband in revenge for selling him into slavery to pay their debts when he was young.
The party can offer to put Sally out of her misery, but she begs that she deserves her own life, free of being trapped.

However, if the tadpole's illithid powers are used for the first time in communing with Sally, no such message is given.
