Shadow-Cursed Vine Blight is a blight Plant creature found in the Shadow-Cursed Lands in Act Two.

Overview[edit | edit source]

Shadow-Cursed Vine Blights, like its brethren the Shadow-Cursed Shambling Mound and the Shadow-Cursed Needle Blight, conceal themselves within the surrounding vegetation in order to ambush passersby. The party must pass a DC 30 Perception check DC 30 Perception check to spot these ambush parties and avoid being surprised.

Combat[edit | edit source]

During the Shadow-Cursed Shambling Mound fight, blights will heavily prioritize using their restraining abilities. Since the Shambling Mound can instantly kill a restrained target with DevourDevour, getting restrained can be deadly. As a result, if a party member is targeted by ConstrictConstrict, you should prioritize breaking free.

This can be done by breaking the blight's concentration. Blights have a fairly low Constitution modifier of +2, so breaking concentration with damage can be fairly reliable. Allies can also be freed from their restraints by spending an action using HelpHelp.

Features like Land's Stride: PlantsLand's Stride: Plants and Freedom of MovementFreedom of Movement will prevent being restrained and make blights far less dangerous.
