Overview
Encompassing Reithwin Town and its surroundings, the area is almost entirely shrouded in the namesake Shadow Curse. Creatures without protection suffer the effects of the Shadow Curse, and do not last long before dying or becoming Shadow-Cursed Undead.

Region Summary
If a party member wanders into the shadow curse unprotected, then Turn Based Mode will be started automatically. The party member then has 1 turn to generate or relocate to a protective light source. Failure to do so will lead to them suffering damage.
The Shadow-Cursed Lands is the main Chapter Two region. When you first enter you should cast Light or similar (or use a torch) to avoid taking damage. Whilst in the Shadow-Cursed Lands if a member of your party wanders outside the light the game will shift to Turn Based Mode to give them the opportunity to get back into the light. Failure to do so will lead to them suffering Necrotic Damage. Some areas of the Shadow-Cursed Lands (such as the Last Light Inn) have a protective shield around them so that you don't need a source of light whilst in these areas.

It is the primary setting for the start of the game, and is visible on the map of the Over-world.
In the areas further from Moonrise Towers even mundane light (such as Torch or Light) can stave off the effects of the shadow curse, but in the areas closer to the Towers only the effects of a Moonlantern or Pixie Blessing will provide sufficient protection. Additionally, some locations in the Lands such as Last Light Inn are protected from the Curse by other effects.
