The Snapping of Strings

The Snapping of Strings is a hostile Countermeasure Aberration in Baldur's Gate 3.

Involvement

The Snapping of Strings may appear during the final battle Atop the Netherbrain if the player sides with the Emperor. It will appear if a Bard is present in the party.

 Fracture Psyche ()

Invade a target's mind and disrupt its defences. The target's  Armour Class and Saving throws are reduced by 1.

If the target dies while its psyche is fractured, you can cast  Shatter Psyche on another target.

 Range: 9 m (30 ft)

 Recharge: Short rest

 Ranged Attack ()   –  Hand Crossbow +2

Damage: 5~10

1d6 + 4⁠Piercing

Make a ranged attack with your equipped weapon.

 Range: 18 m (60 ft)

 Silence ( + )

Create a sound-proof sphere. All within are  Silenced and Immune to Thunder damage.

 Range: 18 m (60 ft)

 Stage Fright ()

Damage: 2~12

2d6⁠Psychic

Your targets have Disadvantage on Attack Rolls and take 2~12Psychic damage each time they miss.

 WIS Save

 Range: 18 m (60 ft)

 Recharge: Short rest
