Involvement[edit | edit source]

Act One[edit | edit source]

Ikaron is usually patrolling The Hollow. When Meli Meli steals Barth Barth's locket, the party can try to resolve their conflict peacefully or allow Barth to strike the child. If Barth is violent toward Meli, Ikaron intervenes.

If angering Mol Mol in any way, Ikaron confronts the party about "threatening children".

If travelling to the Rosymorn Monastery Trail or the Shadow-Cursed Lands before resolving Kagha Kagha's ritual the Rite of Thorns, the tieflings are expelled from the Grove and Ikaron's corpse can be found among the pile of refugees near the bridge to the Blighted Village.

In the event that Minthara Minthara and her raiding party is primed to assault the Emerald Grove, Ikaron guards and protect the rest of the non-fighting tieflings sheltered in the Secluded Chamber. After the raid or the goblins from the Goblin Camp are defeated and the tieflings are prepared to leave, Ikaron attends the celebration at the Campsite but broods from a distance. He is annoyed that the others are celebrating instead of grieving their fallen comrades. If the player character passes a Charisma check, he can be persuaded to join the celebration.

Act Two[edit | edit source]

If Ikaron survives the events at the Emerald Grove, his body can be found in the Shadow-Cursed Lands X: -9 Y: 54 among the tiefling refugees that did not make it to the Last Light Inn.

Idle banter[edit | edit source]

Ikaron has several pieces of idle banter with his mother Okta:

  • Okta
    There's barely any rations left.
    • Ikaron
We'll make it last. We always do.
      • Okta
I can't thin the broth much more than this.
        • Ikaron
          It'll have to do.
  • Okta
If I'd known they were leaving, I would have given them an extra helping.
    • Ikaron
They're cowards, mother. You don't owe them anything.
      • Okta
But can you really blame them? After Elturel...
        • Ikaron
We can't run forever. I'd rather stand and fight.

If the Emerald Grove is assaulted, Okta can be seen huddling with Bex, Danis, and Ikaron:

  • Okta
So you have experience treating the wounded?
    • Bex
      Well... not exactly.
      • Okta
Just good with a needle and thread?
        • Bex
Sure. Were you a cook in Elturel?
          • Okta
You've had my food, right? Answer's in the gruel.
  • Ikaron
Look on the bright side, mother - should be fewer mouths to feed after today.
    • Okta
      Ikaron, please.
      • Bex
Danis can hunt! Sharp as an elf with that bow, aren't you love?
        • Danis
          Well. In a pinch.
          • Ikaron
Then why aren't you on the wall?
            • Danis
Rabbits don't shoot back, do they?
  • Danis
Would you... like to pray, or something?
    • Ikaron
      No.
      • Danis
        Right. Silence it is.

If the tieflings prepare to leave for Baldur's Gate, Okta continues talking to Ikaron:

  • Okta
    Do you need help, Ikaron?
    • Ikaron
      Nn-! No. I've got it!
      • Okta
Don't be breaking your back before we get to Baldur's Gate.
        • Ikaron
          I won't. I'm not ten anymore.
          • Okta
Don't I know it. But there's two more boxes after this one.
            • Ikaron
              Ugh.
  • Okta
What do you think of opening a cart in Baldur's Gate?
    • Ikaron
A cart? Like on the street?
      • Okta
Exactly. Noble types won't want a tiefling cookin' for them, but common folk...
        • Ikaron
A cart sounds fine, but do I have to haul it around?
          • Okta
Until we make the coin for a proper ox, maybe.
            • Ikaron
              *Sigh.*
  • Ikaron
Do you think we'll stay in Baldur's Gate long?
    • Okta
Of course. It's a big city, lots of opportunity.
      • Ikaron
        But Elturel...
        • Okta
Don't let that place cast a shadow on your head forever.
          • Ikaron
I guess things are already better. I've learned a lot.
            • Okta
There we go, boy. Now back to packing.

During the camp celebration, Ikaron may talk to Rhy:

  • Ikaron
How many of those have you had?
    • Rhy
      Who's counting? It's a celebration!
      • Ikaron
        It's a wake.
  • Rhy
Don't you think we owe the dead a pint or two?
    • Ikaron
I think you just want an excuse to drink.
  • Rhy
You could stand to relax a bit, mate.
    • Ikaron
      I am relaxed.
      • Rhy
        You're tense as a bowstring.
  • Rhy
I see the problem - you don't have a drink!
    • Rhy
      Here, take mine.
      • Ikaron
I'd rather keep my wits about me, thanks.
  • Rhy
Don't you think we owe the dead a pint or two?
    • Ikaron
I think you just want an excuse to drink.

If Ikaron was convinced to drink, his idle banter changes:

  • Rhy
Did I see you drinking ale?
    • Ikaron
      It was just the one.
      • Ikaron
And no, I don't want another.
  • Rhy
Could be ale's just not your drink.
    • Rhy
      Someone, wine! Quick!
      • Ikaron
No wine! The ale was more than enough.
  • Rhy
Your cheeks are looking a bit pinker than usual.
    • Ikaron
      Are they? Oh, gods.
      • Rhy
All it took was one! I'm jealous.
  • Rhy
    Here's to us!
    • Ikaron
      That was so loud.
      • Rhy
        Oh. Was it?
