The campsite during Act Three

Camp Events/Act Three are scripted events that can occur at the Campsite during Act Three. Below is a list of camp events and their requirements.

Orin displays Zevlor's corpse

Requirements:

  • The tieflings must be saved in Act One
  • Zevlor survived
  • The party must find and interact with the pod containing Zevlor in the Mind Flayer Colony in Act Two, but choose to not free him.

Result:

  • If Zevlor is neither killed nor released at the Mind Flayer Colony, Orin the RedOrin the Red kills him instead and leaves his corpse along with a Grand Infernal Painting at the campsite. Communing with his corpse reveals he was used as an offering and that Orin is below the city.


Orin impersonates her victim

    • Arriving in Lower City, Gortash revealing the party has been infiltrated at his coronation
    • Gortash being killed

  • Having already encountered Orin in the sewers.

Result:

  • Orin abducts one of the companions or YennaYenna. She then tries to coerce the party into killing Enver GortashEnver Gortash by threatening to kill her victim should they come for her first. The preceding scene differs depending on who is abducted.


Yurgir visits camp

  • If the party helped him by breaking his initial contract with Raphael, Yurgir will visit the camp one night to inform them to seek out a Diabolist in order to break-in to the House of Hope.


Astarion's attempted abduction

  • Astarion's siblings attack the party at camp. If Astarion is downeddowned while at least one of the spawn is alive, on their next turn they teleport away, taking Astarion with them. He can then be found in the kennels of Szarr Palace.

  • Astarion's siblings attack the party at camp. If Astarion is downeddowned while at least one of the spawn is alive, on their next turn they teleport away, taking Astarion with them. He can then be found in the kennels of Szarr Palace.[verify]

  • Romance scene with Astarion depending on the choices made at the end of his personal quest.
  • If the player character dissuaded Astarion from Ascending, they meet at Astarion's old grave, where he tells the player character that Cazador essentially killed the person that Astarion was before being turned into a vampire. He ends with a hopeful tone, believing that he can finally chase after his own desires, which include the player character. He pronounces it is finally time for him to start living again.
  • If Astarion did perform the Ascension ritual, he requires the player character become his vampire spawn. This can be optionally preceded by sex, but the scene always ends with the player character being naked while Astarion bites them. If the player character refuses to turn into his spawn, he ends the relationship, chiding that it is their loss to have turned down his "gift".

  • Once the party obtains the book in Sorcerous Sundries, Gale becomes extremely interested in it. If somebody other than Gale interacts with it, Gale can actually interrupt and ask to read it himself. Reading it is a major turning point: he learns about Karsus's Crown and becomes convinced that he may succeed where Karsus failed.

  • Halsin will always encourage the player character to speak with their partner for consent if they are already in a relationship. If Halsin's offer is made while the player character is romancing another and they fail (or neglect) to obtain permission to add him before the next Long Rest, even though Halsin says, "Take your time, I'll be waiting", he does not inquire or mention his desires again, and the romance path with him is permanently closed.

Jaheira's and Minsc's reunion

  • VlaakithVlaakith offers a last chance for Lae'zel to do her bidding and kill OrpheusOrpheus, promising ascension. If Lae'zel is chosen as origin, then the player character can do an insight check, which reveals that Vlaakith is lying.

  • Romance scene with Lae'zel. Lae'zel wakes the player character to show them something, which turns out to be a sunrise. She explains she has learned to appreciate sunrises, as well as many other things that Faerûn has to offer, most important of which is the player character. She asks them if they want to be her romantic partner. If they accept, Lae'zel names them "Source of her joy".


Selûnite Shadowheart goes swimming

  • Romance Shadowheart and partner with her in Act Two
  • Shadowheart spared the NightsongNightsong
  • 40 Approval or higher with Shadowheart
  • Knowing that Shadowheart cannot swim

Result:

  • Romance scene with Shadowheart. Shadowheart tells the player character that she wants to take a swim in a nearby lake to cleanse herself from Shar's influence, as well as attempting to learn to swim and wants to take the player character along. This scene has two versions, depending if nudity is turned on or not in the accessibility settings.
  • If nudity is turned off, both Shadowheart and the player character meet at a beach, where Shadowheart asks the player character to get into the water. After a playful swim, the scene cuts to the pair on the beach again, fully clothed, where they start kissing.
  • If nudity is turned on, Shadowheart asks the player character to strip and gleefully looks on while they do. Both of them then walk into the water and enjoy a swim before returning to the beach, still naked, where they start to have sex.
  • A minor consequence of this scene is that Shadowheart, after falling into the water following the Netherbrain's defeat, mentions that she was lucky to have learned to swim.


Selûnite Shadowheart wants a shared future

  • Following up on the previous romance scene with Selûnite Shadowheart, Shadowheart contemplates on what she wanted to do after The Absolute crisis is resolved while also declaring that she wanted to share it with the player character.


Sharran Shadowheart puts deity before date

  • Shadowheart became a Dark Justiciar in Act Two by killing the Nightsong

  • Shadowheart reveals that although while she remain partnered with the player character, her dedication to her goddess takes precedence over her relationship with them, even solemnly proclaiming that isn't truly love.


Sharran Shadowheart's Nightfall Ritual

  • Romance Shadowheart and partner with her in Act Two
  • Shadowheart became a Dark Justiciar in Act Two by killing the Nightsong
  • Complete Daughter of DarknessDaughter of Darkness by allowing Shadowheart to kill her own parents

  • Romance scene with Shadowheart. Shadowheart explains to the player character that she wants to do a Nightfall ritual to gain Shar's blessing. This ritual requires the participants do a wicked deed, followed by a feast. In this case, the wicked dead is smearing Aylin'sAylin's blood onto a statue of SeluneSelune. This is followed by Shadowheart and the player character having sex.


Shadowheart reflects on leaving Shar

Type: Companion  (ShadowheartShadowheart)

Result:

  • After dealing with Viconia and turning away from SharShar, Shadowheart stands near a statue of SelûneSelûne and reflects on how she feels after permanently leaving Shar. After a brief dialogue, she breaks down crying. The player has an option to hug her. This scene changes based on whether or not she saved her parents.

If her parents are alive, Shadowheart proclaims she is not worthy of being called their daughter after all she has done in following Shar for so long. Her parents then appear and tell her that she is and will always be their daughter and that they are happy she is finally free from Shar. Shadowheart then asks them if they would call her Shadowheart, instead of her real name Jenevelle, as she feels she cannot be that girl anymore, after everything that is happened. Her parents agree and the reunited family hugs.

If Shadowheart allows her parents to die, she grieves their deaths and tells the player she is keeping her name as Shadowheart, rather than retaking the name Jenevelle.


Shadowheart leaves after her parents are killed

Wyll's choice: father or freedom?

  • Wyll has to chose: does he want the pact with Mizora to endure till the end of his life and save his father Ulder RavengardUlder Ravengard, or does he want to break the pact, thereby ensuring his father's death? This is part of The Grand DukeThe Grand Duke and The Blade of FrontiersThe Blade of Frontiers. If Ulder was instead killed, either by attacking Gortash during his coronation or rushing to the Iron Throne without taking a Long Rest, Mizora's demand instead is changed to either resurrecting Ulder or allowing him to stay dead.

Wyll proposes at the Wilden Oak

  • Wyll contemplates his biggest enemy; Time. He invites the players character to join him to the Wilden Oak. There he proposes using an acorn, after which the two kiss each other.


Mizora's romance night

  • Speaking to Mizora and allowing her to stay at camp.

Result:

  • There is an option to have a sex scene with Mizora, potentially ending a relationship with a companion, if already partnered. Shadowheart, Halsin and Astarion (if Ascended during The Pale ElfThe Pale Elf) do not object at all. An Astarion who refused Ascension confronts the player character: if the player character is honest, they stay in a relationship with them, but leave if the player character does not take them seriously. Similarly, Karlach issues an ultimatum on whether or not the player character chooses to stay in a relationship. Lae'zel, Minthara, Wyll and Gale leave no matter what dialogue options the player character chooses.


Mizora offers to resurrect Ulder Ravengard

Result:

  • After the Duke is dead, the party can make a deal with Mizora to resurrect the duke in exchange for renewing Wyll's pact, or reject the deal in order to break it. The availability of this option depends on Wyll's status and earlier choices.


Aylin's attempted abduction

Requirements:

  • Either:
    • Revealing the Nightsong's location to AradinAradin while she's present in camp
    • Fail any of the roll that prevent him from pursuing her

  • If the player character reveals Aylin's location to Aradin or fails any of the checks to prevent him from pursuing her, he and a group of mercenaries appear one night to bring her to Lorroakan.


The Emperor reminisces

  • The Emperor is sitting on a bench watching OrpheusOrpheus in chains. The player character can either comfort it or insist they find it a disgusting creature, after which it mentions the player character reminds him of Stelmane. Another option is wishing for a dreamless sleep, which ends the scene prematurely.


The Emperor's romance night

Result:

  • The players character wakes up next to a half undressed Emperor. Depending on the conversation choices and previous decisions, the Emperor might try to persuade the players character to become true allies. If angered, the Emperor shows how the relation with Duke Stelmane truly was, threatening the same fate. The Emperor commands the player to take it to the Elder Brain. If a positive relation was built up to this point, a romance scene can be chosen.

Bhaal sends his spawn a vision

  • The Dark Urge receives a vision which explains they are Bhaalspawn. The tone of the vision depends whether the player character embraced or resisted the Urge in Act Two. If resisted, the vision implies Bhaal is angry with them and that they will likely die at Orin's hands. Orin appears in this dream in slayer form, killing the Dark Urge.
  • If embraced, the vision is more triumphant, claiming the player character is at the cusp of regaining their birthright, with Orin being the only one in their way. It shows the player character turning into the Slayer, killing her.
  • This vision also happens without Long Resting, when the Dark Urge enters Wyrm's Rock Fortress for the first time, at which point they faint and experience the vision.


Jaheira confronts the Dark Urge

Requirements:

  • Having experienced the previous vision.
  • Jaheira must be in active party if said vision occurs during Long Rest.
  • If the Dark Urge experience the vision in Wyrm's Rock Fortress, this event triggers upon taking a Long Rest

  • Long Resting while Jaheira is not in the party after experiencing the vision.

Result:

  • Jaheira confronts the Dark Urge after learning they are a Bhaalspawn. If the previous event occurs during a Long Rest, this one immediately triggers. In this event, Jaheira wakes the Dark Urge up and confronts them about knowing their identity. If the Dark Urge spared both Isobel and their romantic interest or the companion with whom they have the most approval, Jaheira comforts them and encourages them to overcome their urges.
  • If the Dark Urge has become the Slayer by either killing Isobel or their romantic interest or the companion with the most approval, Jaheira's interaction is much more hostile, declaring that she should have killed the Urge when they had the chance, only barely managing to stay her hand due to the current Absolute crisis. Jaheira can then be intimidated into leaving the party for good. This way, she will not appear after the Dark Urge accepts Bhaal's blessing.
  • If Minsc is recruited before the confrontation with Jaheira, then he will be present during this event and act in concert with her.


Orin is defeated without the Dark Urge present

  • During the next long rest Sceleritas FelSceleritas Fel wakes the Dark Urge and is furious that his master has failed BhaalBhaal.
