Lorgan

Father Lorgan was a cleric of Ilmater and a priest of the Open Hand Temple in Rivington during Act Three.

Overview

If approaching the Open Hand Temple, the party learn that its priest was cruelly murdered. The Temple's second-in-charge, Sister Yannis, can be found arguing with Investigator Valeria on the murder suspect. Valeria is convinced that Lorgan was killed by the refugee File:Portrait Brilgor.png Brilgor, but Yannis disagrees.

After Valeria leaves, Yannis asks the party to conduct a more meticulous investigation, and informs them that the accused Brilgor was found dead alongside Lorgan.

Involvement

Act Three

Father Lorgan's corpse is in the temple's infirmary at X: -59 Y: -23. The only thing that can be looted from it is Lorgan's Chest Key.

If spoken to with  Speak with Dead, Father Lorgan reveals that he attempted to help the refugees in accordance with Ilmater's teachings, but he hid many of his actions because he knew that many others in the temple would disapprove (such as Brother Bill).

Lorgan reveals that he was killed while hiding Brilgor from Flaming Fist guards in the caves beneath the temple. His murderer was a dwarf dressed in red, who used a paralytic poison on him. Brilgor's corpse can corroborate the murderer's physical description. If the party interrogate a dead doppelganger in the caves, the corpse confirms this description and names the killer as Dolor.

Notable loot

Lorgan carries his chest key, which unlocks one of the chests in the temple's dormitories at X: -91 Y: -1. Upon opening the chest and passing a DC 10 Investigation check, a false bottom in the chest is revealed to contain Lorgan's personal diary, Confessions, Vol. 1, Father Lorgan. Diary entries show that Lorgan's faith remained steadfast.

Father Lorgan can be spoken to with  Speak with Dead.

• Father Lorgan: Dwarf... dressed in red...
  • Party member: Why did he kill you?
    • Narrator: *The corpse remains silent. It does not know.*

Party member: What were you doing when you died?

• Father Lorgan: Hiding Brilgor... from Fists...
  • Party member: Why were you hiding Brilgor?
    • Father Lorgan: Must protect... innocents... Ilmater's will
  • Party member: Where did you hide him?
    • Father Lorgan: Took him to tunnels... with the rest... fool... fool...

Party member: How did you die?

• Father Lorgan: A poisoned blade... paralysis...

Party member: Where were you attacked?

• Father Lorgan: Tunnels from the cellar... refuge...
