Arka

Arka is one of the tiefling refugees seeking shelter in the Emerald Grove. She is Kanon's sister and Memnos' close friend, as well as a guard atop the grove's ramparts.

Involvement

Act One

Arka is initially seen fighting on the Emerald Grove ramparts when the goblin party chase Aradin, Barth, and Remira to the front gates of the Grove. Her brother, Kanon, is mortally shot by Goblin arrows while attempting to open the gate. After the conflict ends, she remains at her brother's corpse while her friend Memnos attempts to console her. Regardless of what the player character says or if they leave the area, Arka will grab a nearby crossbow and run toward the imprisoned goblin Sazza to enact vengeance.

The party can convince Arka to take or spare Sazza's life. If Arka does not take revenge on Sazza, she can be found mourning with Memnos near Kanon's grave after the defeat of the goblins in the Goblin Camp. If she kills Sazza, her body can be found at X: -44 Y: 408, just east of the Goblin Camp.

If travelling to the Rosymorn Monastery Trail or the Shadow-Cursed Lands before resolving Kagha's ritual, the Rite of Thorns, the tieflings are expelled from the Emerald Grove and Arka's corpse can be found among the pile of refugees near the bridge to the Blighted Village.

During the assault on the Emerald Grove by Minthara and her raiding party, Arka is among the first line of defence atop the gate, alongside Asharak, Elegis, and Zevlor.

If Arka dies during the assault but Memnos survives, he buries Arka next to Kanon's grave, telling her that Kanon will be waiting for her. He also comments that she would not want anyone to mourn her.

If Arka and Memnos survive, or if the goblins' leaders were killed, they both move to Kanon's grave, Arka saying that Kanon has been avenged, and Memnos mentioning that Kanon would be proud of Arka. After the tieflings leave for Baldur's Gate, her body can be found alone near the bridge to the Blighted Village.

Companion approval

Upon entering the Grove, Arka can be found next to Kanon's corpse. The party can speak with her or ignore her.

Regardless of the party's actions, Arka runs to the prison to enact vengeance. The party can find Arka taking aim at Sazza while Memnos tries to calm her down. They can watch the bloody scene unfold or decide to intervene.

The player character can convince Arka to spare Sazza.

  • What would Kanon think of you now?
  • Note: If Detect Thoughts fails, Arka and Memnos will become Temporarily Hostile and will initiate combat.
