Act Three

Arne can be found just outside the entrance to the Rivington General with  Belron Strongstep. He is complaining to Belron about the unreasonably high cost to pass the South Span Checkpoint to enter Baldur's Gate, where he had hoped to find safety. Belron attempts to reassure Arne with various alternative options such as pawning his wife's ring.

  I'm done for. Don't have the coin to get into the city, don't have the strength to face another tenday on the road.

  We'll figure something out.

• Arne Jacobson

  Flaming Fist will start clearing outsiders from Rivington and the refugee camps soon. Mark my words.

  There's more than one way to skin a tressym. We'll find a way into the city - you have my word.

  I've barely enough coppers left to eat, let alone buy papers to enter the city.

  I could pawn my ring.

  You are not pawning your wife's ring. It's the last thing you have of her.
