Humanoids are a type of bipedal creature that can be frequently found throughout Baldur's Gate 3. They are the most common creature type, and include all playable races.

Characteristics[edit section | visual editor]

Humanoids primarily consist of non-monstrous, bipedal and intelligent creatures. They have two legs, two arms, a torso and a head. Many humanoids are civilised and social creatures, though some are less so.

Bugbears are tall, hairy humanoids related to goblins that thrive in the heat of battle. They can usually be found working with other goblins.

Gnolls are large, bipedal hyena-like creatures that are consumed with a primal bloodlust and hunger. Gnolls may be found in hunting packs, and typically worship the god Yeenoghu.

Goblins are small humanoid creatures that often live in underground caverns in large numbers. They aren't the brightest or strongest creatures around, however their numbers, proficiency with weapons, and general sneakiness can make them dangerous.

Hobgoblins are larger, stronger versions of Goblins and share many features, except for their deep red skin.

Kobolds are very similar to goblins except they resemble small scaley lizards that stand on two legs. Like goblins, they aren't especially intelligent or strong but they are very crafty, and specialize in traps and ambushing.

Kuo-toa are humanoid, fish-like creatures that inhabit the seas but can occasionally come on to land thanks to their webbed feet. Kuo-toa are cruel creatures, but are intelligent enough to converse with land creatures and wield weapons.

Meazel are small, hairy creatures that are recluses. When disturbed, they respond typically by garrotting their victims.

Shadar-Kai are special elves that are bound to the Shadowfell, and are characterized by pale white skin and hair.
