Circus of the Last Days Rivington

Circus of the Last Days is a location within Rivington during Act Three, found along the road to Wyrm's Crossing and directly south of the Open Hand Temple.

The Circus of the Last Days itself is an extraplanar circus which moves from plane to plane, "thrilling all" who stop by. The circus is home to an eclectic assortment of members, run by ringmaster Lucretious. Some members of the circus are performing as part of a "time debt", some rescued, and others simply arrived and never left.

Overview

Access

The circus is set up just north of the entrance to Rivington, adjacent to the Open Hand Temple and the graveyard. Klaus and the circus' principle sniffer, Benji, are guarding the main entrance to prevent murderers from entering. Klaus can be Persuaded or Deceived to gain entry (see Klaus' article for dialogue variations).

There are also several other points of entry: a gap in the fence north of the main gate, at X: 22 Y: -34; an iron gate leading from a courtyard in the Open Hand Temple X: -74 Y: -13; and an iron gate leading from the temple's graveyard at X: -101 Y: -41.

The circus

The circus is in town, and has plenty of attractions for visitors. Karlach and the Sentient Amulet will be particularly enthusiastic about going to the circus.

Over on the southern side, Zara the Mummy is selling clown face-paints, which may or may not come off. The djinni Akabi is hosting a very legitimate game of Spin the Wheel. Winning the jackpot of Akabi's game will cause the winner to be transported a distant Jungle, where Nyrulna and Band of the Mystic Scoundrel can be obtained.

Nearby, the dryad Zethino can give a test of love, which is a way to earn approval with a romantic interest.

Zethino is one of Orin's possible disguises. The real Zethino can only be encountered if Orin has already been discovered twice.

Off in the south-western corner, Boney and his wife Stoney are taking commissions for a Sculpture of the True Hero of Baldur's Gate. North of their stall is Popper, who is selling all kinds of "rescued" goods.

In the ringmaster's tent in the north-western corner is Lucretious, who is trying to get her skeletons in order. Further east, on the northern side of the circus, the beast cages hold Shadow-Whiskers the displacer beast and Crimson the dilophosaurus. Finally, in the north-eastern corner, Dribbles the Clown is performing his new comedy routine with the help of a volunteer.

Jungle

Main article: Jungle

The Jungle is a location which can only be accessed after being teleported by Akabi for "cheating" at his Spin the Wheel game. It is a small area with several Chult Alioramus, and the legendary weapon, Nyrulna.
