Overview
Background
Dribbles the Clown is the "star" and one of the most popular shows at the Circus of the Last Days. Unfortunately, he was killed by cultists of Bhaal sometime before the party reaches Baldur's Gate.
History
For a decade, Dumpty Dumpling was the headline act at the Circus of the Last Days. However, Dumpty's love of clowning was fading. During one of his performances, Norris Greene volunteered himself when Dumpty called for one from the crowd. Norris quickly enthralled the crowd with his quick wit and one-liners. Lucretious, seeing his potential, offered Norris a job on the spot. [text 1]
Involvement
Act Three
'Dribbles the Clown' can first be encountered at the Circus of the Last Days doing a comedy routine. As the party approaches the stage they will be brought into the act, and 'Dribbles' will call upon a member of the party to join him on stage, where it will be revealed that this Dribbles is actually a Doppelganger named Fumm. Great Old One or Arch-Fey Warlocks can attempt to see through the clown disguise with a DC 25 Insight check, with Rogue multiclasses gaining advantage. Passing the check allows the character to cautiously go on stage, allowing the party to preemptively strike on the evil clown.
After the fight, Lucretious will ask the party to find Dribbles. His body can be found strewn across Baldur's Gate. After his parts are returned, Lucretious says she will be able to resurrect him so that he can continue performing.
Party interactions
The player character can suggest to one of their party members that they go up on the stage when their group is called on. Some party members will disapprove of being called up on stage, but the other party members will approve. The interactions are as follows:
