This page contains all inspirations which can be earned within Act Two of Baldur's Gate 3. To unlock an inspiration the character must be in the active party.

These inspirations can be earned throughout the game, beyond Act One.

- The party must not aquire the Shadow Curse condition. To avoid this everyone should be equipped with torches or some other persistent light source. The easiest way to succeed in this is to arrive from the Rosymorn Monastery Trail. Before the scene with Gronag triggers, the party must jump to the bridge instead and keep walking. A scene with Kar'niss triggers without the Harpers. After revealing themselves the party can demand he hand over the Lantern, then release the pixie to get her protection.

- The goblin can be found near the Monastery trail entrance into Shadow-Cursed Lands. The party must speak with him and demand he fetch the bone he threw, then select the illithid option "Go on. Fetch!"

Follow or ambush Kar'niss:

Play with Oliver:

- When Oliver turns invisible, an active party member must pass a Perception check or it does not count as a win. In the first round he is outside near a cart. For the second round he runs into the house. It is recommended to split the party and keep them inside the house crouched or invisible to avoid being spotted by the shadows.

One must enter the Moonrise Tower area (seen on map banner in the left) via a side route, without being granted Moonshield. If not triggering, fast travelling back to Last Light Inn with an Outlander character grants the inspiration instead.

Talk to 'Barnabus', 'Timothy' and 'Tomelia':
- Charlatan background. Astarion Kree Derryck : Successfully influence the gnolls, either to break free or continue being subservient.
- Entertainer background. Brinna Brightsong : Make the gnolls stay under the influence of their master.

Moonrise Docks[edit | edit source]
Talk to Marls:

- Have the the player character tell him they want to see the shipment without using illithid powers. When they learn what it is, remove his mental defenses with illithid powers and tell him to wash off the tadpoles. This breaks some Oaths.

Moonrise Prison[edit | edit source]
Break or break out Minthara:

- This is granted after talking with Minthara in the camp the first time.

- The party must trick or kill the interrogators, then break her out of Moonrise. The party may be stopped by patrols, as well as the entrance guards. The party must succeed any checks or sneak out another way.

: Torture Minthara, reducing her to a husk of her former self.
Bribe the Warden:

- The party must try to bribe her, but pay the lowest amount because she only takes their money.

Talk to the Prisoners:

- This can be achieved by persuading the guards to let the party speak with the prisoners, by speaking with them unobserved, or by killing all the guards first.

- One method is blocking the cell gates with prisoners with crates or barrels, placing some explosives barrels near and putting a lit torch close by, then reaching the area behind the cells, letting two strong characters with hammers break the walls. The prisoners escape, and if done correctly, the guards cannot enter the cells and the party can escape without combat.

Pass the Trials:
- Gauntlet of Shar. Acolyte background. Shadowheart Zenith Feur'sel : Solve each of trials in the
- Noble background. Minthara Kerz : Pass all of Shar's trials.

- There are three trials. Soft-Step, Self-Same, Faith-Step. A fourth gem is in Yurgir's lair.

Pass the Self-Same Trial:
- Haunted One background. Dark Urge : Kill the player character's mirror-self in Shar's trial.
- Soldier background. Lae'zel Jaheira Varanna Sunblossom
- Before touching the altar, the player character's equipment can be taken off to make the clones much easier to beat. The respective characters must perform the killing blow directly, some Damage Over Time (DOT) effects do not count.

- To obtain the bell the player character must succeed a check to request more resources.

Deal with Yurgir:
- Entertainer background. Brinna Brightsong : Hear the orthon's contract.

- The party must hear the song contract, then succeed an Insight check.

- The party can use means like to sneak in and pick up the gem.

- This only is available if the player character never receives the shadow curse, and is granted when the party leave Shadowfell.

- The party must solve the Brain_Mapping_Puzzle by connecting the four mind components to the equivalent ones on the opposite side. Only one connection per node is allowed.

- The party must find and end Ketheric Thorm, twice if necessary.
