Shadow-Cursed Lands[edit section | visual editor]
- Path Least Followed: Complete the Gauntlet of Shar without going to Last Light Inn or Moonrise Towers. Outlander background. Karlach Eldra Sina'zith
- Always a Step Ahead of the Darkness: Reach the Nightsong without ever being affected by the Shadow Curse. Outlander background. Karlach Halsin Eldra Sina'zith
- The party must not aquire the Shadow Curse condition. To avoid this everyone should be equipped with torches or some other persistent light source. The easiest way to succeed in this is to arrive from the Rosymorn Monastery Trail. Before the scene with Gronag triggers, the party must jump to the bridge instead and keep walking. A scene with Kar'niss triggers without the Harpers. After revealing themselves the party can demand he hand over the Lantern, then release the pixie to get her protection.
- Odd Entourage: Complete the drider escort to Moonrise Noble background. Minthara Kerz
- A Tale of Two Souls: Complete the saga of Art, Halsin and the spirit of the land. Entertainer background. Brinna Brightsong
Moonrise Towers[edit section | visual editor]
Visit Moonrise Towers:
- I Ain't Afraid of No Shadows: Traverse through the Shadow-Cursed Lands to Last Light and Moonrise without using a Moonlantern. Outlander background. Karlach Eldra Luthrinn Sina'zith
- Part 2/2 - The party can fail this by accident, as Moonrise Towers are surrounded with Moonlight lanterns. One must enter the Moonrise Tower area (seen on map banner in the left) via a side route, without being granted Moonshield. If not triggering, fast travelling back to Last Light Inn with an Outlander character grants the inspiration instead.
Trade with Roah Moonglow:
- War Profiteer: Find Roah in Moonrise and trade with her. Criminal background. Ver'yll Wenkiir
Talk to Lann Tarv:
- Uncommon Recognition: Relate the player character's feats to the bugbear merchant. Folk Hero background. Wyll Danton

- No Strings to Hold Them Back: Release the gnolls from their enslavement. Folk Hero background. Wyll Danton

- The party must convince her to kill the ogre behind her with her mind.

- The party must succeed a check to distract or trick her when she looks for proof of the player character's loyalties.
Capture Isobel:

- This can be triggered by cooperating with Marcus to abduct Isobel from Last Light Inn.

- The party must read the letter in the locked chest at the foot of Kethric Thorm's bed and investigate the plaque in front of Isobel's sarcophagus.
Solve Balthazar's puzzle:

- The party must pass a DC 10 Perception Check to notice the protruding books. After interacting with the "Musty Tomes" shelf, an altar appears. The party must insert a Heart found in the same room into it.
Listen to the Walls:
- A Different Kind of Muse: Connect to the strange consciousness in Moonrise Towers. Entertainer background. Brinna Brightsong
- They're in the Walls!: Discover what the "meat sound" is. Sage background. Gale Sir Fuzzalump
- A party member must reach into the Cracked Wall, and then "Do nothing."
- Delving into the Deep: Enter the oubliette... for better or for worse. Outlander background. Karlach Halsin Eldra Luthrinn Sina'zith
- Will Not Be Forgotten: Escape the Oubliette. Urchin background. Maddala Deadeye
- If using Cracked Wall select "Submit. Become.". Alternatively in the prison the party can also jump down the pit, climb down the cliffside or jump down the hole in Cell Three.

Moonrise Docks[edit section | visual editor]
Talk to Marls:
- Swimming with the Shadows: Force the Zhent smuggler to jump off the docks. Haunted One background. Dark Urge
- Have the the player character tell him they want to see the shipment without using illithid powers. When they learn what it is, remove his mental defenses with illithid powers and tell him to wash off the tadpoles. This breaks some Oaths.
Moonrise Prison[edit section | visual editor]
Break or break out Minthara:
- Nobleborn as Below, so Above: Recruit Minthara. Noble background. Kerz
- This is granted after talking with Minthara in the camp the first time.
- Twice Scorned, Twice Abandoned: Rescue Minthara from her captors. Urchin background. Maddala Deadeye
- The party must trick or kill the interrogators, then break her out of Moonrise. The party may be stopped by patrols, as well as the entrance guards. The party must succeed any checks or sneak out another way.
- Soulful Lobotomy: Torture Minthara, reducing her to a husk of her former self. Haunted One background. Dark Urge
- The player character must take over the interrogation and erase Minthara's mind.
- Mutually exclusive.
Bribe the Warden:
- Can't Bribe 'Em All: Bribe Moonrise's warden. Noble background. Minthara Kerz
- The party must try to bribe her, but pay the lowest amount because she only takes their money.
Talk to the Prisoners:
- Not to Worry, I Have a Permit: Evade repercussions when speaking to the Moonrise prisoners. Charlatan background. Astarion Kree Derryck
- This can be achieved by persuading the guards to let the party speak with the prisoners, by speaking with them unobserved, or by killing all the guards first.
- Escape Artisan: Give Wulbren his tools so the gnomes can escape. Criminal background. Ver'yll Wenkiir
- Simple Tools, Great Works: Return Wulbren's tools to him. Guild Artisan background. Jacelyn
- This doesn't need to be his hammer which was confiscated; any bludgeoning weapon, including the club that Wulbren can pick up on the docks, awards these Inspirations.
- Always a Way Out: Help the Moonrise prisoners escape. Criminal background. Ver'yll Wenkiir
- Bugging Out: Help Wulbren escape Moonrise. Urchin background. Maddala Deadeye
- Breakout!: Break out and save all of the Moonrise prisoners. Folk Hero background. Wyll Danton
- One method is blocking the cell gates with prisoners with crates or barrels, placing some explosives barrels near and putting a lit torch close by, then reaching the area behind the cells, letting two strong characters with hammers break the walls. The prisoners escape, and if done correctly, the guards cannot enter the cells and the party can escape without combat.
Atop Moonrise Towers[edit section | visual editor]
Confront Ketheric:
- Top of the Ladder: Meet Ketheric at the top of Moonrise. Noble background. Minthara Kerz
- Eclipse of the Heart: Recount Ketheric Thorm's past to him, shaking his resolve. Entertainer background. Brinna Brightsong
- If the player character learned Ketheric's past from exploring his family's rooms, they must succeed a check to to make him surrender.

Pass the Trials:

- Dark Machinations: Fill all sockets with Sharran gems in the Gauntlet of Shar. Guild Artisan background. Jacelyn
- There are three trials. Soft-Step, Self-Same, Faith-Step. A fourth gem is in Yurgir's lair.
Pass the Self-Same Trial:
- Self-Flagellation: Kill the player character's mirror-self in Shar's trial. Haunted One background. Dark Urge
- Know Thine Enemy: Defeat the player character's copy in the Gauntlet of Shar's mirror trial. Soldier background. Lae'zel Jaheira Varanna Sunblossom
- Before touching the altar, the player character's equipment can be taken off to make the clones much easier to beat. The respective characters must perform the killing blow directly, some Damage Over Time (DOT) effects do not count.
Breach the Silent Library:

- The relevant weapon is actually called the Spear of Night. It is located inside the Silent Library, behind a gate, behind a tapestry of Shar.
Deal with Balthazar:

- Those for Whom the Bell Tolled: Kill all of Balthazar's undead. Acolyte background. Shadowheart Zenith
- Bleeding the Corpse Dry: Kill the necromancer. Haunted One background. Dark Urge
- To obtain the bell the player character must succeed a check to request more resources.
Deal with Yurgir:
- Catchy Tune: Hear the orthon's contract. Entertainer background. Brinna Brightsong
- The Devil's in the Details: Expose a half-truth in the orthon's contract with Raphael. Charlatan background. Astarion Kree Derryck
- The party must hear the song contract, then succeed an Insight check.
- Fickle Allegiances: Take Shar's gem without aiding or killing the orthon. Criminal background. Ver'yll Wenkiir
- The party can use means like Greater Invisibility to sneak in and pick up the gem.
- Strength in Cowardice: Convince the orthon to spare the party, for now... Urchin background. Maddala Deadeye
- Succeed a check to avoid fighting during the player character's first encounter.
- Return to Sender: Kill the orthon, returning him to Raphael. Soldier background. Lae'zel Varanna Sunblossom
- Killer Poetry: Trick the orthon with a false loophole. Haunted One background. Dark Urge
- Three difficult checks must be passed: first he must be convinced to kill his followers, then Nessa, then himself.

- The party must read One Becomes Many at the base of the large central statue of Shar.
Investigate Nessa:

- This only is available if the player character never receives the shadow curse, and is granted when the party leave Shadowfell.

- The party must not have visited either before dealing with Nightsong. This skips much of Act Two if achieved.

- The eyepatch is located in Balthazar's Necrotic Laboratory, next to the mind jar apparatus.
- Brain Blast!: Successfully complete the mind puzzle in the mind flayer colony. Sage background. Gale Sir Fuzzalump
- Body Heist: Open and loot the mind flayer colony's vault. Criminal background. Ver'yll Wenkiir
- The party must solve the Brain_Mapping_Puzzle by connecting the four mind components to the equivalent ones on the opposite side. Only one connection per node is allowed.
- A Piece of Three: Piece together Ketheric's allegiances. Acolyte background. Shadowheart Zenith Feur'sel
- Lesser of the Three: Kill the envoy of Myrkul. Haunted One background. Dark Urge
- The party must find and end Ketheric Thorm, twice if necessary.
Bugs[edit section | visual editor]
- There are two more campsite inspirational events concerning Arabella. Both should be granted for lying to her about the fate of her parents. However, the trigger for these inspiration events is a specific unreachable scene with Withers and Arabella, and thus, these inspiration points cannot be earned in the current game version (4.1.17209685). These are as following:
- Two more inspirations concerning the player character's decision to drink or not Jaheira's spiked wine do not trigger as of game version 4.1.17209685. These are as following:
- Not My First Time ( Charlatan background) - for passing Constitution check to lie about the tadpole effects, after the player character discerned the truth serum in the wine but still drank it
- Wary of Strangers ( Urchin background) - for refusing to drink the wine at all (regardless of knowing whether it is spiked)

- ↑ The area free of the curse starts in approximately 3 m (10 ft) from the hidden door in the Grand Mausoleum which leads to the Traversal disk. Moving to the campsite before this imaginary line leads to the primary Shadow-Cursed Lands' campsite layout and allows to earn the inspiration.
- ↑ These inspirations cannot be obtained if Mol did not survive Act One, or if the party has already been to the Grand Mausoleum and met Raphael there. In both cases, he does not appear in the tavern at all. Also, he disappears after Marcus' assault on Last Light.
- ↑ To earn any of this inspirations, Meygan must survive the fight with shadows if the party participates in it. Also, she must be talked to strictly before Marcus assaults the Last Light.
