Another can be summoned via Retinue of the Vampire Lord as part of the Gather Your Allies quest.
Shadow Mastiffs appear once Halsin opens a portal to the Shadowfell during Lift the Shadow Curse . The party must defend the portal while various shadow creatures, including Shadow Mastiffs, attempt to attack it.
