You can smell that, right? Bloody rotten, it is.

Involvement[edit | edit source]

Battrick is complaining to the Flaming Fist soldier north of the mansion, attempting to get him to do something about the smell. However, Jimi does not actually want to investigate the complaint, preferring to find an easy and convenient explanation to talk the gnome down.

Idle banter[edit | edit source]

Fist Jimi Borleas: So what exactly did you see?

  • Battrick Degronce: I don't rightly know. But they was up to no good, lurching this way and that.
    • Fist Jimi Borleas: Walking funny isn't a crime.

Battrick Degronce: What about the smell? It stinks something rotten.

  • Fist Jimi Borleas: Probably just a dead cat. *Sniffs.* Maybe a few dead cats.
    • Battrick Degronce: How's a dead cat making a stink like that?

Battrick Degronce: What am I s'pposed to do then? Miscreants creeping around, a stink like death itself... It ain't safe.

  • Fist Jimi Borleas: What do you want me to do? Arrest a smell?
    • Battrick Degronce: Some help you are. Where's the Steel Watch when you need 'em?
