“Welcome back, my darling. Are we feeling ruby? Amethyst? Malachite? Tell me, I'm here for all your glittering needs.„
Overview[edit | edit source]
The Glitter Gala occupies the ground floor of a building in the Steeps district of Baldur's Gate, adjacent to the Facemaker's Boutique and close to the bridge leading into the Upper City through the Baldur's Gate checkpoint.
The building has two stories and a vast basement. The upper floor is occupied by the musical store Chromatic Scale, run by a dragonborn bard Thomas C. Quirkilious, while the basement is used as a storehouse by both establishments.
The Glitter Gala owner and vendor Omotola sells gems and jewelry. The official name of the business is Omotola's Bijoux.[1] Whilst the door patter suggests the shop has magical gems in stock, no such items exist.
Building layout[edit | edit source]
At X: -176 Y: -66 a successful DC 15 Perception check highlights Omotola's Chest Key. It opens the opulent chest behind Omotola's counter. Its copy lies on the top of the display case near the chest.
In the salesroom are two locked gilded chests, both requiring DC 20 Sleight of Hand check to lockpick. The one on the counter contains gold and random potions, while the other one keeps gold, random gem and two random arrows.
On the floor behind the counter is a hatch leading into the building basement. It is red-outlined and locked, requiring DC 20 Sleight of Hand check or The Glitter Gala Stockroom Key, which can be pickpocketed from Omotola.[2]
Omotola carries the Counting House Vault nº6 Key in her pockets as well.
Basement[edit | edit source]
The basement hallway is crossed by several tripwires and Vents armed with Cloudkill. The first room to the west is a storage area for the Chromatic Scale.
The storage area for The Glitter Gala is located behind an Iron Gate DC 25 Sleight of Hand check, with a Marble Plate just behind it, which sets off three more Cloudkill vents.
In the storage are two trapped chests:
- The heavy chest requires DC 20 Perception check to notice the trap, DC 15 Sleight of Hand check to disarm it, and then DC 20 Sleight of Hand check to lockpick. Inside are gold and several gold ingots.
- The opulent chest requires respectively DC 25 Perception check, DC 15 Sleight of Hand check, and DC 15 Sleight of Hand checks to open, but contains only minor random loot.
Some Valuables can also be taken from the shelves here.
Outside the building[edit | edit source]
Near The Glitter Gala, Lord and Lady Whitburn are discussing their new acquisitions of clothes and jewelry. Their banter changes if Enver Gortash is dead - as both are looking forward to receiving an official invitation to the funeral.

- ↑ As mentioned in Detailed Ledger together with other enterprises. The document states as well that portion of Omotola's business revenue is sourced by Enver Gortash.
- ↑ Another key labelled as Omotola's stockroom key can be pickpocketed from Thomas C. Quirkilious. It opens the hatch lock as well.
