If Aradin Beno and his crew leave the Emerald Grove, Meli can be found in the Tiefling Hideout X: 87 Y: 71, practicing pickpocketing on a dummy.
Pickpocketing Barth[edit | edit source]
Main article: Return the Locket
If Aradin's crew stays for a drink, Meli spawns at The Hollow X: 174 Y: 544 pretending to search an open crate while the crew heads to a nearby table. The party can watch Meli steal a 
Brass Locket from Barth's pocket and run up the ladder where Barth catches him. Initiating conversation with either one allows the choice to intervene and protect Meli, convince him to return the locket, or let Barth do what he wants.
There are four options:
- Protecting Meli, "Don't lay a finger on that child." (
DC 10 Persuasion check or DC 10 Intimidation check) and he runs off with the locket. - Convincing Meli to return the locket ( DC 5 Persuasion check or DC 15 Intimidation check) and he might be persuaded to reveal that he stole the locket because it reminded him of his mother's.
- Letting Barth strike Meli, the locket falls out of his pocket, and the nearby guard Ikaron comes over to investigate the disturbance.
