“Snowstorms inside the house, blood weeping from the windows <...> I can't risk the neighbourhood just 'cause you were stupid enough to piss off a hag.„
Overview[edit | edit source]
Barren's Coop is a small private building in the Eastway district of the city, located just before the part of the city controlled by the Guild. The owner seems to have been renting the place to other people.
The only entrance is at X: 45 Y: -114. It is locked, but not considered a restricted area. The door requires DC 10 Sleight of Hand Check to lockpick.
The breach in the stone railing across the entrance and knotted roots hanging down allow to descend to the porch of the Vonayn's Home and further to the Heapside Strand beach.
Involvement[edit | edit source]

The current state of the place depends on the decisions made by the party in Act One during the Save Mayrina quest.
- If the party saved Mayrina from the hag who tricked her, the building was briefly a place of gathering for the Anti-Hag Support Group, founded and run by Mayrina. However, the owner got fed up with the peculiar consequences of their struggle, and bid them to leave the place. They have found a new shelter in Old Garlow's House.
- Upon entering the house, a DC 10 Perception Check highlights the Eviction Notice from the building owner. However, the place can still be explored: the wooden chest in the far corner contains a journal with records on various stuff which the group tried to use against hags, and some alchemical ingredients. On the table in the opposite corner among several Anti-Hag Support Group Posters lies a note from one of the group members Kled, revealing their new base of operations.
- If the Help the Hag Survivors quest is not active, reading any of the posters starts it.
- If the party sided with the hag in Sunlit Wetlands, or never encountered neither her nor Mayrina, there are no documents left by the Anti-Hag Support Group within the house, as well as no eviction notice. The research journal is replaced with a book called Calishem Awaits, in which Adrielle states she could not find enough other hag victims to band together against the hag, so she will try her luck in Calishem.[1]
