Involvement

Cassie Wheynstown's corpse is in the basement of Peartree House, along with the corpse of Courageous Little Kimmabeth, whose heart is extracted and burning in a brazier nearby.

Cassie was killed by  Orin the Red. Her corpse was used as a component of Orin's "art" as an effigy to Yaga-Shura, a Bhaalspawn belonging to a Fire Giants race defeated more than a century ago.

While Kimmabeth's corpse depicts Yaga-Shura himself, Cassie's corpse was meant to depict Nyalee, a former cleric of Bhaal and Yaga-Shura's foster mother. It was she who helped him to perform the ritual with a burning heart to obtain invulnerability.

Notes

Cassie's in-game model features the same tattoos which can be seen on most cultists of Bhaal encountered along the game plot, as well as set of armour (save for the helmet) of the Death's Head of Bhaal rank.
