Minthara/Disapproval
More actions
Overview | Approval | Disapproval | Banter | Location Remarks | Romance | Combat |
Minthara disapproves of almost any kindness or compassion, in thought or in deed, towards other beings, especially those deemed inferior or weak, particularly non-drow.
Minthara dislikes expressions which may imply weakness or lack of resolve. These traits, in her opinion, include peacefulness, conformity and wishes to help those in need merely for the sake of it. She disdains most acts of charity and expressions of sympathy for the weak or meek[note 1]. Lastly, she does not approve of stopping others from cruel behavior, as well as deliberate refusals from gaining any possible power or advantage.
As Minthara can only be recruited after being used and then sentenced to death by the Chosen of the Absolute, she considers them implacable foes. Hence, she frowns upon any player's choices which coincede with the goals of the current leadership of the cult.
The story and dialogue choices listed on this page lower Minthara's approval.

Notes edit
- ↑ The only major exclusion to this demeanor is Minthara's approval towards Yenna early in Act Three. There, almost all companions react positively to the player's attempts to help a motherless child.
- ↑ In addition to possible issues with (dis)approval dialogue the player may experience, Minthara is a special case, as she was likely intended to be a companion earlier than she ended up being for release. As a result, with regard to possible approval changes not occurring, the player may experience more omissions with Minthara than might otherwise occur - particularly those listed for Act One.
- ↑ It is well documented that there are numerous instances in the game where changes in approval likely should fire, but do not. This Nexusmods page explains the problem and offers a solution via a mod.
- ↑ 4.0 4.1 Minthara uses specific expressions in drow language quite often, though she usually translates them for the player character. However, you can also refer to Drow dictionary on the Forgotten Realms Wiki to know more.
