An easier way to steal the idol is to walk close to it on the left side of the shrine, click on the idol and while the party member walks towards the idol to grab it, open camp menu and as soon as you picked up the idol - go to camp. If doing it in the right timing, no theft will be triggered and the party don't have to use {{SAI|Fog Cloud}} or any other {{SAI|Invisibility}} spells.{{verify}}

Walkthrough[edit | edit source]

Hatch to the tiefling hideout.

In order to receive this quest, the party must be on good terms with the tiefling children in the Grove. A variety of quests influence how Mol sees them:

The most effective way to gain Mol's respect is to rescue Mirkon. He informs the party about the location of the tiefling hideout and the password needed to enter, allowing a simple path forward. Once inside, Mol greets the party and thanks them for all the good deeds they've done for the children. Choosing "Thought you might need help with something" causes Mol to request stealing the Idol of Silvanus as revenge for hurting Arabella and the other tiefling refugees. Agreeing to steal the idol starts the quest. If not choosing the dialogue option to help Mol the party will be blocked out of the quest and its reward.

Idol of Silvanus in the Sacred Pool.

The Idol of Silvanus is in the center of the Sacred Pool X: 243 Y: 507 right in the middle of the Rite of Thorns ritual and surrounded by druids. It is possible to simply walk up and take the idol, but doing so results in the druids becoming hostile. All of the druids must be killed in that instance. Attempting to steal the Idol at all while the Rite is ongoing results in hostile druids.

However, the Idol can be stolen without angering the druids, if Investigate Kagha Investigate Kagha has been completed and the Rite stopped (but this quest has to be started before stopping the ritual or it will not be offered). After this, the party can use sneaking skills to stealthily steal the idol. Spells like Darkness Darkness, Fog Cloud Fog Cloud, and Greater Invisibility Greater Invisibility are also immensely helpful. Mage Hand Mage Hand can also be used to throw the idol far enough away that the druids will not observe a party member picking it up.

If the party is caught, the druids can still be bypassed with a DC 15 Deception, or Intimidation check.

Another option is to hide, steal the idol, and fast travel before being talked to by a druid. If returning to the grove, the druids will no longer become hostile. Returning to Mol will still trigger normal quest dialog.

Quest Reward[edit | edit source]

Notes[edit | edit source]

  • After completing the quest, the idol can be bought back (or pickpocketed) from Mol, the price depends on character's Charisma and standing with Mol allowing the bonuses to be kept.
  • It's not possible to start this quest if you finish Investigate Kagha Investigate Kagha, Save the First Druid Save the First Druid or anything that decides the grove's fate prior to talking with Mol.
