Estra Stir is a gossip columnist for a newspaper in Baldur's Gate during Act Three.

Act Three[edit | edit source]

Estra Stir works for the Baldur's Mouth Gazette in the Lower City. If Enver Gortash Enver Gortash is alive, she informs the party that they are the subject of the Gazette's next issue - the juiciest one to date. Estra refuses to elaborate and rejects any arguments about the party's consent to be written about. However, her statements initiate the quest Stop the Presses Stop the Presses. The party can investigate Baldur's Mouth by speaking to the editor, Ettvard Needle Ettvard Needle.

If Gortash is dead, Estra informs the party that they should read the Gazette to learn the real story behind his death. If Stop the Presses Stop the Presses was not yet initiated, it is no longer possible to start the quest by speaking with Estra.

She is one of many citizens forcibly transformed into a Mind Flayer by the Netherbrain upon collecting all three Netherstones.

  • Estra Stir: Go on then. Tell me a story that'd beat Gortash's death for the headline.
    • News Hawker Luan: All right here's one for you - did you hear about the rabbit that became a frog?
      • Estra Stir: Mmmhmm. Perhaps you just focus on the paper selling and leave the writing to me.
