Zorru is one of the tiefling refugees seeking shelter at the Emerald Grove in Act One. Originally out on a scouting mission with Yul, he encountered a Githyanki patrol on the Risen Road before fleeing back to the grove.
“We were s-scouting the road to Baldur's Gate. It saw us 'fore we saw it. Jammed its blade through Yul's belly, straight to the other side. And I just... I just ran.„
Description[edit | edit source]
Zorru has a sense of humor, occasionally making fatalistic jokes, and values humor in difficult times.[1]
He fears githyanki after watching one gut his friend.
Zorru often chooses flight over fight, abandoning his fellow scout to die after being attacked by a githyanki patrol as well as fleeing the tiefling refugees after the Absolute Cult's attack in the Shadow-Cursed Lands.
Involvement[edit | edit source]
Act One[edit | edit source]
When Nymessa and Damays have Lae'zel captured, they'll comment that Zorru was right to describe the gith as "Yellow as a toad, and twice as ugly" and that one of them killed his squad. Upon arrival at the Grove, if Zaki sees Lae'zel, he'll comment that she's one of the toad-people Zorru saw. Either interaction may lead to Lae'zel insisting on finding and questioning him about the gith he saw, with the hopes of finding their Crèche and curing the party of their tadpoles.
Zorru can be found in The Hollow, next to the storage hut. If Lae'zel is in the party, he will question her presence. Lae'zel will order Zorru to bow. If the player character allows this to happen, there will be a gain of approval with Lae'zel and disapproval with Shadowheart. If not forcing Zorru to bow, then Shadowheart gains approval instead, and Lae'zel gains disapproval.
The player character can also question Zorru over the whereabouts of the Githyanki Crèche. He will give information that updates the map with a marker. This will also advance .
When approaching the Mountain Pass, the party can encounter the corpse of Yul, Zorru's friend and fellow scout. Using will reveal that Zorru left Yul to die. If Wyll is in the party, he will call Zorru a coward.
After defeating all three goblin leaders, Zorru will leave the Grove before most of the tiefling refugees, and travel to Baldur's Gate on his own.
Act Three[edit | edit source]
Zorru can be found with several other tieflings in the refugee camp near the Requisitioned Barn, within Rivington. His dialogue with either Cerys, Bex, or Danis reveal that he mysteriously made it to the city all on his own, but had some close calls with Absolutist cultists on the way there; nevertheless, he acquiesces that he did not have it as hard as the rest of the remaining refugees.[2]
Despite his own cowardice, he despises Zevlor for failing to act under pressure during the attack by Absolute Cultists.[3] Depending on the player character's conversation with him, he may change his point of view to understand that he tried his best in a terrible situation.[4]

Attacks and abilities[edit | edit source]
Noteable loot[edit | edit source]
Companion approval[edit | edit source]
First interaction between the party and Zorru in The Hollow. Laezel must be in the party.
Approach Zorru with Lae'zel in the group
- "Yes. And I suggest you do as she says" OR "You heard the woman. Bow."
- Wait for the tiefling to obey. OR "She's serious. You'd better get on your knees. Fast."
- Take over the interrogation AND order Lae'zel to stand down. (Might be an option to take over without approval changes before Zorru is bowing.)
- Tell Zorru to take a breath or stand back up AND get the information.
- Tell Zorru to take a breath or stand back up AND let him leave
Talking to Lae'zel after the interrogation (Some options vary depending on who did the interrogation)
- "Do you plan to be that rough with everyone we meet?"
- Halfling - "Goodness me - that's a terrible way to make friends. Must you be so rough?"
- "You're a dab hand at interrogations . we might need that skill again."
