Felogyr's Fireworks is a fireworks shop in the Lower City of Baldur's Gate in Act Three of the game. It is located nearby the Heapside Strand Waypoint. The main entrance is at X: 13 Y: -127.

Overview[edit | edit source]

The building is three-storied and has a basement, which has its own double doors in the southern side of the shop. Only the first floor of the shop is publicly accessible. The way to the second floor is barred off with the locked Reinforced Metal Door and an armed Feloguard (an unique name for the workshop guards) Sigurd. To access the second floor, the party should speak to the shopkeeper Avery Sonshal Avery Sonshal and use the password obtained on previous stages of the quest. However, File:Portrait Feloguard Sigurd.png Feloguard Sigurd will also accept the password and let the party through the door.

Reinfirced Metal Door is opened with the Fireworks Workshop Key (see below), but obtaining or using it without any covering means makes all workshop's employees hostile.

The third floor and part of the second floor are considered restricted areas.

Basement[edit | edit source]

The entrance to the basement from the street is just across Philgrave's Mansion (X: 7 Y: -136). The double doors are locked and red-outlined, so using means of Invisibility Invisibility or spells like Fog Cloud Fog Cloud is recommended. The lock needs a DC 20 Sleight of Hand check to lockpick.

Inside the basement the party will find Boxes of Fireworks and Boxes of Oddfire Fireworks (several of both kinds), and several Fireworks demonstration boxes (these can be looted for random pyrotechnics). At the left side is a ladder that leads into the workshop itself.

Main part of the basement is intersected by a tripwire ( DC 10 Sleight of Hand check to disarm). At the far side of the basement the party can find a locked Wooden Chest (which requires DC 10 Sleight of Hand check or Avery's Storage Key, see below). To the right of the chest several wooden crates hide a lever. It opens a secret section of the basement, where several Smokepowder Barrels are stored behind yet another tripwire.

The ladder will lead the party into the ground floor of the workshop through a hatch. The hatch is red-outlined and appears to be locked when seen from the ground floor. It requires DC 20 Sleight of Hand check to lockpick or Felogyr's Fireworks Cellar Key (see below) to open. Yet the party emerging from underneath won't make any of NPCs inside hostile.

Ground floor and Second floor[edit | edit source]

The front doors are opened, as it's the main entrance to the workshop. The street is overlooked by a patrol of Flaming Fists and a Steel Watcher, and starting a fight or committing any crime inside will immediately draw their attention. If the fight starts, the automaton might come inside the building, attacking the party on sight.

In the room the party will see several NPCs: the shopkeeper Avery Sonshal, Feloguard Sigurd, File:Portrait Feloguard Liadan.png Feloguard Liadan, a young customer Willow Willow who may leave the shop and come back later, and File:Portrait Robin Datherswick.png Robin Datherswick.

Speaking to Avery Sonshal will grant the party access to the second floor, if they use the password wrested from Arfur Gregorio Arfur Gregorio in Wyrm's Crossing or Rivington. Avery can be traded with, or pickpocketed (which also allows to obtain the Felogyr's Fireworks Cellar Key and the Fireworks Workshop Key)

Proceeding to the second floor, the party will meet Tamara Clerk Tamara and yet another File:Portrait Feloguard Maeve.png Feloguard Maeve. Tamara is a trader providing more deadly goods than those available to buy from Avery Sonshal. She will warn the party again about restricted part of the workshop, 'password or not'. Should the party try and trespass the certain point (about the point X: 2 Y: -129), Tamara or the Feloguard will initiate the dialogue and stop them.

However, none of them has the ability to see through Invisibility condition, so using due spells or potions solves the problem.

On Tamara's counter the party can find a book by Avery Sonshal titled Boom, Bang, Blast: The joy of fireworks. On the shelf beneath the counter lays Avery's Storage Key that opens the Wooden Chest in the basement.

Third Floor[edit | edit source]

Once the party (or any of its members) reaches the third floor, the Investigate the Suspicious Toys quest is updated.

The third floor is a full-scale chemical laboratory operated by Lolth-Sworn drow Tomboldt the Pallid Tomboldt the Pallid and his aidees, File:Portrait Chymist Norffe.png Chymist Norffe and File:Portrait Limeburn Sphagwood.png Limeburn Sphagwood. They are producing explosives for various uses towards {{CharLink|Enver Gortash|Enver Gortash's]] goals (as reads the Soot-Stained Letter that might be pickpocketed from Avery Sonshal or looted from him). The area is guarded by three Banite warriors: Uva Uva, Hyrriet Hyrriet and Volgu Drak Volgu Drak.

Another way up is through the doorway overlooking the street and Philgrave's Mansion (above the basement doors) (X: 1 Y: -134). It is opened to winch up some crates. The doorway is guarded by Volgu Drak, but using the combination of Invisibility Invisibility and Flight Flight conditions (granted by spells or potions) allows to pass him easily.

On one of the tables lays the book titled File:Whipping Up Booms Unfaded Icon.pngWhipping Up Booms that contains the recipe for Oil of Combustion. In the small separate section (where Tomboldt the Pallid stands) the party can also find Ledger of Production: Explosives and Ledger of Production: Motivators. Also, in Tomboldt's pockets the party can find a note titled Installation Report. Apparently, these documents are the first references to Motivators and the Iron Throne in the main plot of the game. Finally, the party can find several Smokepowder Bombs and two Blast Mines in that room. The mines, however, cannot be picked up, only disarmed.

As soon as any party member is noticed on the third floor, all NPCs there become hostile instantly, and the battle is commenced. As the commotion is overheard at the second and the first floor, other Felogyr's employees will join the fight, siding with Banites.

All over the third floor stand Smokepowder Barrels. Igniting any of them, intentionally or not, causes major explosion that might kill most guards and lab workers and draw attention of the street patrol.
