Ch'r'ai Har'rak is a Githyanki Paladin who can be encountered in Knights of the Shield Hideout in Act Three. She was sent by Vlaakith Vlaakith to learn more about the mysterious Emperor.

Involvement

If the party approaches her without Lae'zel, Har'rak accuses them of being the The Emperor Emperor's puppets. She reveals that the Githyanki have been tracking the Emperor ever since it escaped with the Astral Prism and are well aware that it is hiding inside it. The party can attempt to reveal the presence of Orpheus Orpheus, over the objections of the Emperor, but Har'rak says that she already knows and desires glory for recapturing the "Traitor Prince". At this point, nothing the party says can dissuade Har'rak and she will attack them.

If Lae'zel is in the party then a unique alternate dialogue plays out. Har'rak addresses Lae'zel instead of the player character and revels in the imagined rewards that Vlaakith will give her for delivering "the false heir's head". Depending on her choices within the main story, Lae'zel Lae'zel either defends Orpheus or claims that she will be the one to deliver the prism to Vlaakith. Har'rak then turns her focus to the player character and threatens to annihilate them until nothing is left but "skin and bone".

At this point, a unique DC 18 Intimidation check appears:

  • Strike me and die, a failed warrior forgotten by your people. Lae'zel approves +1

On a successful roll, Har'rak backs down and reveals her jealousy that a young warrior like Lae'zel could come so far despite the fact that she herself has served Vlaakith for 1000 years. She then leaves with all her allies, skipping the battle entirely. On a failed roll, Har'rak attacks the party instead.

  • If the party engages Har'rak in battle then it is important to kill the two Gate Masters as soon as possible. Otherwise they will slowly flood the battlefield with reinforcements and make the fight more difficult.
