The basement is a heavily trapped cavern. From the entrance there is a path to a small shed protected by various orbs. The traps won't go off if you have Jaheira present in your party. The basement is inhabited by the Postmaster Badger and his messenger rats, who will give information on certain happenings around Baldur's Gate if you can to speak to animals.

Elerrathin's Home is a Location within the Lower City in Act Three of Baldur's Gate 3. It is just south of the Baldur's Gate waypoint, in the northwest of the map at X: -209 Y: -54

It serves as the home of Jaheira Jaheira and her wards, who she considers to be her family. The basement of the building is a small lush cavern where Jaheira keeps supplies and her personal effects, including several very rare items.
