Manzarde
Involvement[edit | edit source]
Act Three[edit | edit source]
Saer Manzarde and Frothilda can be found next to Baldur's Mouth, discussing the latest articles published in the Baldur's Mouth Gazette. Although Manzarde is in support of Enver Gortash's policies, he is nonetheless concerned with rising taxes and the economy.
Depending on the interacting party member's race, Manzarde might inform them that "your sort won't be welcome around here much longer."
If Gortash is defeated, Frothilda and Saer Mazarde leave, and cannot be interacted with again.
Idle banter[edit | edit source]
Frothilda: It's a shame Gortash's interview didn't touch on how the Watchers talk.
- Saer Manzarde: That's just a gimmick. The Steel Watch don't need to talk. They're guards.
- Frothilda: Sure, Gortash didn't need to make them speak - but that's precisely why he's a genius! Not only that, they're polite. Have you any idea how hard it is to make an automation have manners?
- Saer Manzarde: As long as they do their jobs, they can sing sea shanties for all I care.
- Frothilda: Sure, Gortash didn't need to make them speak - but that's precisely why he's a genius! Not only that, they're polite. Have you any idea how hard it is to make an automation have manners?
Frothilda: Did you see Lord Gortash's latest interview in the Baldur's Mouth?
- Saer Manzarde: Speaks well, that Enver Gortash. An excellent rhetorician.
- Frothilda: He's a man of the people, too. Promised at least a hundred more Watchers before the year is out.
- Saer Manzarde: Good. But once Gortash clears off the cultists, he'll still have to clean the rabble off the streets.
- Frothilda: He'll manage. There's nothing that man can't do.
- Saer Manzarde: Good. But once Gortash clears off the cultists, he'll still have to clean the rabble off the streets.
- Frothilda: He's a man of the people, too. Promised at least a hundred more Watchers before the year is out.
Frothilda: To think, for decades, all we needed to build the Steel Watch has been sitting right there.
- Saer Manzarde: Gortash is a visionary, sure enough. But his vision has cost a pretty penny.
- Frothilda: We have Steel Watchers promenading the streets and you're worried about the price of bread?
- Saer Manzarde: He's delivered, yes, but these tax hikes are enough to make my eyes water.
- Frothilda: Once the Watchers see off the cultists, we'll recoup what we've lost, and then some.
- Saer Manzarde: He's delivered, yes, but these tax hikes are enough to make my eyes water.
- Frothilda: We have Steel Watchers promenading the streets and you're worried about the price of bread?
If Gortash is killed:
Frothilda: Dear gods above! It's hot off the press - Lord Gortash is dead!
- Saer Manzarde: Don't say that, Frothi. It isn't funny.
- Frothilda: It's no joke, it's the truth! He's been taken from us, Manzarde - so young, so handsome, and gone, just like that!
- Saer Manzarde: Shade of a lich! This is going to play merry hell with commodity prices. I'd better get over to the grain exchange.
- Frothilda: It's no joke, it's the truth! He's been taken from us, Manzarde - so young, so handsome, and gone, just like that!
