Liara Portyr is a high-ranking Blaze of the Flaming Fist and the niece of Duke Dillard Portyr.
Involvement
Upon entering the main office of the Basilisk Gate Barracks, the player will encounter Lora futilely attempting to explain to Flame Portyr that her daughter, Vanra, has gone missing. Portyr seems to be having severe short-term memory issues and keeps forgetting what Lora has said only seconds earlier in the conversation. Speaking to Lora and Portyr allows the player to begin the Save Vanra quest.
Act 3 Spoilers! This section reveals details about the story of Baldur's Gate 3.
Through progressing the quest to Save Vanra, it is revealed that Auntie Ethel has bewitched Portyr to prevent her from investigating Vanra's disappearance. If the player kills Ethel and returns to Portyr, she appears to have fully recovered but is disconcerted by a vague memory of a "Fey-like creature".

Notes
- Liara Portyr is sometimes referred to as 'Flame' rather than Blaze in various books and notes. It's unknown if these were written before she was made Blaze, if it means to suggest she was recently demoted and re-promoted, or if it's simply a mistake.
