Roah Moonglow is a halfling Trader and member of the Zhentarim who first appears in the Shattered Sanctum within the Goblin Camp.
Hm. Are you, by any chance, the bad smell that followed me up from the sewer?

Involvement[edit section | visual editor]

Act One[edit section | visual editor]

Roah is an unscrupulous trader who has come to the goblin camp with the intention of buying goblin prisoners as slaves and selling Smokepowder. She is disappointed that the goblins are no longer willing to sell their prisoners, since they are now sending them to Moonrise Towers. She is more than willing to trade with the party, if they have coin.

Roah is west of the central chamber of the Shattered Sanctum at X: 275 Y: -29, and is accompanied by her bodyguards, ErnaErna and YerleYerle.

If the party recognize Roah as a member of the Zhentarim, and Find the Missing ShipmentFind the Missing Shipment has already been completed, it is possible to bring this up with her and receive the same "friend of the family" discount BremBrem provides after that quest.

However, if the party attacked and killed everyone in the Zhentarim Basement, regardless of whether they have completed Find the Missing ShipmentFind the Missing Shipment they instead have the option of bringing up the killings in conversation with Roah. If they do, Roah reacts (understandably) negatively and allows the character one last opportunity to trade with her. Subsequent attempts to trade are rebuffed with a threat of reprisals by the Zhentarim, although other party members may still trade with her normally.

If Roah is killed in Act One, the party misses out on purchasing items from her shop in Act Two.

Act Two[edit section | visual editor]

The Zhentarim trader can be encountered again in the entry hall of Moonrise Towers at X: -174 Y: -176. Roah mentions the lucrative smuggling she does for the cult of the Absolute. Rogues receive a special dialogue option to use Thieves' Cant to ask for a discount and party members with the CriminalCriminal background receive the inspiration War ProfiteerWar Profiteer if a party member trades with Roah.

Act Three[edit section | visual editor]

If Roah survives to Act Three she can be found making a deal with 'Jaheira''Jaheira' in the Abandoned Cistern portion of the Lower City Sewers, after the party has first encountered MinscMinsc in The Counting House. She is part of the ensuing battle but, if not immediately killed, flees from the sewers.

It is possible to trade with Roah during the Minsc dialogue preceeding the fight; depending on the party's future choices, it might be the last opportunity to acquire her items. If she is killed, the 10,000 gold pfilfered from the Bank Vault can be found in her inventory.

At the Guildhall, Roah and her Zhentarim attempt to stage a coup to replace Nine-Fingers KeeneNine-Fingers Keene as leader of the Guild. After the battle, if Roah survives this conflict, she moves into the former Guild Master's office and resumes being a trader with her existing inventory. After she has assumed her new office, the first time Roah is spoken to, the party can cross her by taking over the Guild, which results in her and the surviving Zhentarim becoming hostile.

If Roah is dead, or dies prior to Act Three, she is replaced by FriolFriol.

  • Tracker Klagga
    Um. 'Ello. Got any breeches?
  • Roah Moonglow
That depends - got any coin?
  • Tracker Klagga
Got nothin'. Kept it all in my old breeches, and somebody robbed 'em!
  • Roah Moonglow
Here - free of charge. Consider it a public service on my part.
  • Roah Moonglow
