This is a list of all spells in Baldur's Gate 3. Visit Spells to learn about spell mechanics.

Cantrips

Cantrips are spells that do not cost Spell Slots to cast. They cannot be upcast, but most of damage-dealing cantrips gain an additional damage die at character level 5, and another at 10.

Level 1 spells

  • These are special spells granted by equipping certain magic items.

Trivia

  • Some spells were changed from their D&D 5e counterparts. For a detailed comparison see D&D 5e Spell Changes.
  • There are unused images in the game files D&D spells Magic Jar Icon.webpMagic Jar, Mending Icon.webp Mending and Identify Icon.webp Identify. They were likely cut from the game during development.
  • There are also unused images for a D&D spell Magic Circle Icon.webp Magic Circle and its variations Magic Circle Elemental Icon.webp Elemental, Magic Circle Fiend Icon.webp Fiend and Magic Circle Undead Icon.webp Undead.
  • According to Swen Vincke, Unshackling Strike Weapon Action Icon.webp Dispel Magic spell was cut from Baldur's Gate 3. [1]
    • The icon for this spell still exists in the game but is used for Unshackling Strike (Weapon Action).
    • The icon is reminiscent of the Dispel Magic icons in Baldur's Gate 1 and 2, and it is in fact still labelled 'Spell_Abjuration_DispelMagic' within the game files.
